A COMMON MISTAKE
A dealer walks in my office and tells me that he used to work at the Las Vegas Hilton (he loved the job) and made $51,000 in 2007. He quit to go to the Palazzo and now he is working two and three days a week and is starving. It might have something to do with cutting tokes with the Venetian. I don’t think they promised him anything different but, I think that he was assuming he would be making a lot more and he would graduate into full time eventually. Well, that hasn’t happened and now he realizes that he made a mistake. So, I guess the moral of the story is, “the grass is not always greener”. Be careful when switching jobs!

TEMP DEALERS
I’m looking through some old stuff and I find a brochure that was showing a dealer that was voted “employee of the year” at the Venetian last year. What was special about the article was that he was one of the “temps” that the Dealers Employment Agency used recently. Goes to show you what kind of quality of dealers they use.

TIDBITS
All the casinos in Colorado are smoke free. Steve Wynn was paid $11 million from his company last year. Nice Job!
The State of Nevada has over 320 casinos and gambling facilities. Hotel rooms account for about 20% of casino revenues in Clark County.
In 1950, the population of Clark County was just over 48,000 residents.
Nevada’s state bird is the Mountain Bluebird, it’s a member of the thrush family.
